The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a program consisting of a combination of small to moderate size distribution substation, and communication projects in the distribution space (2.4kV to 34.5kV). The Project Manager will manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the work related to the engineering, permitting, construction, and capitalization of multiple concurrent low voltage overhead transmission line, substation, and communication equipment improvement projects. The Distribution Project Manager will report directly to the Lead Project Manager and is responsible for cost management of the individual projects, the successful completion of the projects within the specified dates and establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the Owner, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and any other project stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Provide overall management of projects from development, construction and closeout including siting, environmental, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, project controls, bid phase services, procurement, constructability reviews, material management, construction management, and closeout.
Maintain clear lines of communication and relationships between project site, project office and clients.
Drive project schedules and manage scope
Maintain detailed, accurate project cost forecasts and accruals
Develop and implement project policies and procedures, establish project controls systems and implement the project execution plan
Work closely with the Project Team to confirm deliverables and services are being provided to clients satisfaction
Report regularly to the Lead Project Manager on construction progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential impacts, and any issues requiring home office support
Distribution project types include the following: reclosers, circuit rehabs & rebuilds, underground cable (URDs), pole replacements, upsizing existing lines, substation relay replacement.
Project assignments are in the utility clients state operating company’s service territory.

Qualifications:

Candidates for this position must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field from an accredited curriculum. Minimum of two (2) years of electrical utility Transmission or Distribution line or substation project experience with at least five (5) years of project management experience (PM or assistant PM).
Project management experience must include construction phase of project execution.
Must have detailed knowledge in substations, networks/telecommunications, or transmission lines. Must have prior low voltage experience (2.4kV to 34.5kV)
Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contacts on project-related matters.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus but not mandatory.
Ability to travel. Valid driver’s license required.

The successful candidate will coordinate timely equipment and material delivery on electrical substation and transmission projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and collaboration with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will work alongside the client in the project office in Greensburg, PA.

Responsibilities

Track, report, and communicate major electrical equipment delivery dates and delivery readiness to meet project schedules.
Track minor material delivery orders for substation and transmission line projects, verifying status of quotes and orders, and ensuring that bill of materials and purchase orders are accurate.
Develop, maintain, and communicate status of equipment and material delivery via regular reports and presentations to the project stakeholders.
Proactively identify and communicate equipment and material delivery delays and support the Project Manager in developing workarounds to mitigate impacts on the project schedule.
Occasionally travel to vendor facilities to verify production readiness.
Document all meetings and discussions related to equipment and material delivery.
Build and maintain relationships with clients and key points of contact.

Qualifications

Prior experience in Transmission Lines, Substations, and Communications material and equipment required.
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
A minimum of 4 years of related work experience in supply chain, material tracking, or procurement is required.
Excellent organization skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Prior experience in a procurement organization preferred.

Rebuild an existing 230 kV common tower Line as double-circuit construction with one 500 kV and one 230 kV circuit (21 miles).
Rebuild a double-circuit 230kV line on lattice towers to a new double-circuit 230kV line on steel monopoles with concrete foundations (10 miles).
Reconductor several existing double-circuit 230kV lines (12 miles)

Qualifications:

A minimum of ten (10) years of high-voltage transmission line or substation project management experience is required, no exceptions. We are seeking an experienced Project Development Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Transmission & Distribution industry. This role requires strong leadership skills, the drive to implement project management lifecycles, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and lead project kick-offs and development of a project team to evaluate, refine and clarify project scope.
Lead projects from conceptual stage through developmental stage to hand-off of project to execution team; hand-off of project takes place at approximately 30% of the overall project lifecycle.
Lead multiple concurrent projects including overhead transmission and substation projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
Work with technical teams to understand interdependencies of projects and establish an overall construction sequence for inter-related projects.
Maintain detailed project financials with support from cost analyst team.
Maintain detailed project schedule with support from project scheduling team.
Implement a project management lifecycle process to document and execute projects in a consistent, standardized fashion.
Leverage technical education and background to effectively manage projects through early development.
Serve as project point of contact with Owner regarding efforts such as client coordination, strategic planning, scope management, and budgeting.
